Below you will find information regarding what you can expect during your appointment under new CDC guidelines during the current pandemic.

All patrons will be requested to sign and consent to the shop COVID-19 WAIVER below.

  • Why are forms & waivers needed to book an appointment?
    To avoid the spread of COVID-19, the CDC, state and local health departments are implementing that every patron are screened prior to service.
  • Why can't I book online?
    The system is temporarily not available to allow every client the opportunity to schedule over the phone.
  • Why can’t I walk-in for a haircut?
    Walk-ins are not accommodated in efforts to minimize large gatherings and to abide by the recommended social distancing guidelines.
  • Why do I have to wear a face covering during a service?
    Face coverings are state mandated to help avoid the spread of COVID-19.
  • Are the staff wearing face coverings during the service?
    Yes, the staff will be wearing face coverings at all times.
  • What if i forget my face mask?
    We will have face coverings available for purchase.
  • Why isn’t my  barber wearing gloves?
    As per the CDC and the state board of cosmetology, It is not mandatory to wear gloves during a service. Hand washing or sanitizing is mandatory in between clients.
  • Why do I have to provide my address?
    It is important for us to obtain your address on file in the event we need to contact you, if someone may have been exposed to COVID-19 during your visit.
  • Will my information be confidential?
    Your information will remain confidential unless requested by the Public Health Department.
  • What if I decide to keep my information confidential and not agree with your screening process?
    It is your right to keep your information confidential, however we are not servicing anyone who does not fill out the recommended forms.
  • How is American Shave sanitizing the shop?
    We are following all guidelines recommended by the CDC, local and state health departments. We are cleaning and disinfecting daily.
  • What if I contract COVID-19?
    If you contract or have any symptoms COVID related, contact your local or state health department immediately.
  • Why is there a “no-show” policy?
    When making an appointment we are committed to servicing you and hold your allotted time slot. If you fail to cancel an appointment within a reasonable time, we cannot fill or accommodate other appointments.
  • Can I get a shave or my beard trimmed?
    No, the guidelines do not allow for any face coverings to be removed during services.
  • What services are not allowed during COVID-19?
    During COVID-19 the following services will not be rendered as per the state board of cosmetology and CDC regulations: Hair washing, waxing services, blow drying, no styling products will be applied, shaves, beard trimming, mustache, nose hair, and hot towel shaves.
  • Can I wait for my brother while he gets a haircut?
    No. We are limiting individuals in the building. In the event that you need to accompany a minor, you may do so while following social distance regulations .
  • What happens if I have a temperature upon my arrival?
    As per CDC guidelines, you will be sent home.
  • When can I reschedule my appointment if I am denied services because I have a temperature?
    Appointments can not be rescheduled for a minimum of 72 hours after being symptom free, without having taken fever-reducing medication or before 14 days after exposure to a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 positive individual.
  • How far in advance can I book my appointment?
    Due to COVID-19 hours of operation, our appointments are limited and hours are subject to change. We are only scheduling two weeks out until further notice.
  • Why can’t I keep my recurring appointment?
    Our schedule is limited, we are doing the best we can to accommodate all clients. Currently we are only scheduling two weeks out until further notice.
  • I haven’t seen my barber in over 3 months, How do I greet him?"
    To avoid the spread of COVID-19, non-contact greetings are encouraged to follow social distancing recommendations.
  • Can I use the bathroom?
    Bathrooms are available to clients during your scheduled appointment.
  • Why do I have to wash my hands upon arrival?
    As per CDC guidelines and state board of cosmetology, every patron must wash or sanitize hands for 20 seconds before services are rendered. Hand sanitizers will be readily available for your convenience.
  • Can I pay with cash?
    Yes. Cash will be accepted. Having your method of payment will be extremely helpful during the checkout process.

AS A BARBERSHOP GUEST, PLEASE ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING NJ STATE GUIDELINES:

  • Respecting the shop’s sanitation and hygiene standards and processes posted within the shop.

  • Refraining from visiting the shop if you have a fever or communicable illness.

  • Refraining from visiting the shop if you are under an isolation or quarantine order/directive.

  • Curbside waiting room.

  • No walk-ins or online bookings, appointments only until further notice.

  • Only clients receiving services will be allowed in the shop, unless you are accompanying a minor. 

  • If you are accompanying a minor, maintain social distancing at all times.

  • You will receive a text when the barber is ready to service you.

  • Wear a face covering or mask at all times.

  • Children under 2 years old are not required to wear a face covering or mask.

  • Answer screening questions before and during your visit.

  • Must complete online waivers and forms prior to your appointment.

  • A no-contact forehead temperature check will be administered upon check in.

  • Washing hands for a minimum of 20 seconds or sanitize prior to beginning each service.

  • No waxing, beard or shave services will be rendered until further notice.

  • No Show policy is in full effect.

  • Please call 24 hours prior to canceling/rescheduling appointments.

  • NO exceptions will be made.
